Tables, Chance of rain, and a Toilet Seat Clock.....

This past Saturday was our second annual MOPS yard sale. It's a great fund-raiser for our small group because there is virtually no overhead. Even the hot-dogs, drinks and baked goods were donated....

We met at the church at 6:30 (yes - that's AM) to set up. There was a pretty good chance of rain. In fact, as soon as we started to move the tables outside, it started to pour!! We ended up setting up 1/2 of the tables outside and the rest (clothing and electronics) in the church gym....

We had a great group of ladies show up throughout the day to help set up, handle the money, sell the food, and tear everything down...

One of the most interesting items we had donated was a small toilet seat clock. I'm not kidding!! It was a white toilet seat with purple ruffly lace around the edges. All of us were joking about how strange it was. I went to get my camera and by the time I came back, someone had bought it!! One man's trash is another man's treasure, I guess! =)

We made the pricing very simple for the customers as well as our poor mommy brains!!!........

Although it was a hot, tiring day, we earned almost $600 which will go very far to help with our MOPS groups expenses and scholarships!!

What about you......did you do any shopping this weekend????

Shoot! I've been looking for one of those clocks. ;)

Sounds like you had a great time! No shopping for me this weekend -- I was holed up in the house trying to get over this silly vocal chord infection. My search for the perfect toilet clock will have to wait. Sigh.

Sounds like your sale was a success. That's awesome. I actually did do some garage saling this past Friday and found a really great bookshelf for our family room. And it was only $10!

You did well! Yards sales are a lot of fun and A LOT of work. We've done a few to benefit our church's orphan ministry. The worst part is trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff that is left over!

That is TOO funny! Can't believe someone made it and can't believe someone bought it! LOL
