We moved here to Northern PA when I was 7 months pregnant! I didn't know anyone, and was super excited when a friend of mine told me about a group that met in the next town over called, MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). I went to a couple of the meetings before my little guy was born, and soon found out that it is an international organization with the purpose: "Better Moms Make a Better World".
It was great to get to know other moms just like me who struggled with feeding, sleeping, disciplining, and everything else in the world of motherhood. I appreciated the adult conversation and the encouragement from older, more experienced moms. Of course, the brunch each time was a great factor too!! =)
We were super excited to actually start a sister group at our church in the Fall of 2009. We just had our kickoff meeting last week for our second year! We consistently have 20-30 ladies, and are just thrilled with how the Lord is using it in the lives of both saved and unsaved ladies!
So, what about you, fellow mommies??
Are you a part of a MOPS group or other moms group in your area?
How do YOU connect with other moms in your community?
Fellowship and support from other moms is SO important, and I hope all of you have some sort of network to help you on this fun/challenging journey!!
I am SUPER excited about next week's Friday Feedback...it's a little different....
Share some pictures of the fall decorations in your home.
I actually held off on this question for a few weeks (even though I decorated on Labor Day), so that you all could get your homes decorated and snap a few pictures of your hard work! Who knows, maybe I'll even get some great ideas to add to my decor!!
I would love to have LOTS of participation next week, so that we can all share our decorating fun!
Please pass the word, and then get your posts ready to link-up next Friday!
Quick Note: Please mention Friday Feedback in your post and link back to A Steady Rain. I have created a Friday Feedback button (located in the Fri. Feedback instructions at the top of the blog) so you can easily link back to the post!
