Rambling thoughts about priorities and this blog......

One of the daily blessings that we find in our lives is the Lord's leading in both the big and small. I've been sensing that leading concerning this blog and my priorities!
Last week, I was pouring out my heart to the Lord about how simply overwhelmed I've been feeling lately. You understand the feeling, right? As a woman, we wear dozens of different hats each day, and each one has it's own set of responsibilities and concerns. After a while, our life feels like it's spinning out of control.
As I prayed, I asked the Lord to help me reset my priorities and weed out areas that were not necessary, but adding to the craziness of my life. I couldn't help but thing of this blog. When I started it 470 posts ago, I was constantly filled with inspiration and ideas! I would lay in bed at night with my mind spinning with the principles and ideas I wanted to share.
I'm ashamed to say that lately, I've even struggled to be consistent in my prayer life and time in the Word let alone brainstorming about new blog posts! Writing at A Steady Rain has turned into something I have to do rather than something that is naturally flowing from the joys, blessings, and lessons I'm finding in my walk with the Lord.
I continued to pray and think about what needed to be done, and I feel like I've come to a sensible answer. Blogging has become a huge part of my life. I like to think of it as both a hobby and a ministry. I also need to realize that it is not a necessary part of my routine. I can't expect to minister or share things that I'm not learning personally.
My relationship with my God ABSOLUTELY must come 1st, and then comes taking care of my home and growing family. Once I'm consistently doing those things, sharing here comes naturally! (In fact, I already have a post in the works for later this week that came from some reading I was doing in John the other day).
I don't know if any of this makes sense to you, but I wanted to share with you what has been going on in my heart lately. If things seem quiet here for a couple days, a week, a month, or more, please know that I haven't given up on you or this blog. I just need to enjoy the steady rain of God's blessings in order to be most effective here!

What this means for you.....
*I'm going to put our Friday Feedback link-ups and questions to rest for now. While I have thoroughly enjoyed hearing from you every week, I really need to remove that added pressure for now. PLEASE continue to share with me in the comments or even through e-mail! I want to be here for you!!
*I plan to continue my monthly book reports. The accountability has been GREAT for me, and I'd still like you to be able to link-up books that you have been reading lately! I'll let you know in advance when those link-ups will be coming.

Thanks for putting up with this LONG post!! I appreciate each and every one of you!!
